NOT a First Aid Kit and NOT a Survival Kit.  This custom crafted SAFETY kit has been generated based on the Search and Rescue After-action Statistics.  The tools in this tiny pack are meant to bring searchers to you as fast as possible and keep you safe until they arrive. Super compact yet Jam-packed, these take up so little space you should have one everywhere - ATVs, Tractors, Motorbikes, Snowmobiles, Boats, Cars, and in backpacks for hunting, fishing, dog walking, hiking, skiing, and camping.

Custom created and hand packed by someone who has used them time and time again.  Tried, tested and trusted.  These are the ones I have made for myself, my family and for my Scouts in years past.  Small, easy, and multi-use; the best way to carry things.  You will not find a comparable product on the market, and to combine commercial kits to include all the necessary elements - shelter, fire, wounds, signalling, navigation - it would easily cost $50+.  Here's what you need in one lightweight package.

Contents:  1 Whistle, 1 Button Compass, 1 Orange Garbage Bag, 1 Triangle Bandage with 2 Safety Pins, 1 3" gauze roll, 2 Super Absorbent Pads, 1 First Aid Booklet, 4 Alcohol Wipes, 2 XLG Band-aide, 1 Lg Band-aide.  Plus 1 Sewing Kit:  2 Large Eye Heavy Duty Needles, 2 ft Upholstery Thread, 4 Buttons, 1 Diaper Pin, 2 ft Flagging Tape in a Metal Signalling Tin.  Plus 1 Fire Starting Kit:  3 Waterproof Matches, 1 Birthday Candle, 2 ft Jute, 2 pieces of Toilet Paper, various lightweight small pieces of wood in a Waterproof Resealable Container wrapped with 2 ft of Hockey Tape.  All in a Waterproof Resealable Mylar Pouch.

Nothing will render good quality gear useless faster than a ripped seam, popped button or stripped zipper.  Always be able to stitch things up no matter where you are, whether the great outdoors or the office!  Only heavy duty components, this is the stuff I trust.

It is much harder to start a fire in the outdoors than most people realize.  Finding dry light tinder to get your gathered sticks burning is the most vital element of having a fire.

Taught to me during Reserve Training, these pacing beads are used for calculating distance when navigating.  How it works.  You must first determine how many footsteps YOU use to travel 100 m.  Between two telephone poles is about 50 m.  Keep your footsteps realistic - what you think you'll be walking at in the bush after an hour!  Do this 3 times and take the average.  Let's say that average is 28 paces.  Then double it (50 m x 2 = 100m.  So  28 x 2 = 56)  So it takes 56 paces to travel about 100 m.  Yes, there are many variables - too many to teach here.  But you get the idea.

Start with both top and bottom beads pushed all the way to the top of their respective sections.  As you walk you count your paces.  For every 56 paces, drop a bottom bead (100m).  You will note that there are 9 beads on the bottom.  Once you have pulled down the last bottom bead (900m):  After you complete your next 56 paces you then pull down one of the top beads and you have travelled approximately 1 km.  Pull up all the bottom beads to start your next kilometer and repeat.  Safe travels!

These are modelled after the one provided to me by one of my instructors (which I still have! I use it to count other things now too, like if I'm trying to keep track of how much water I drink in a day...)

I first started "Disclaiming" my written communications with new people about a year ago.  It was so funny, I just kept doing it.  Now I can wear it and save my breath.  I figure there may be a couple of you out there who are the same way.... Available in Med, Lg and XL and XXL.
